    Quite a few flaws with the g20 now that I’ve had it for awhile For starters, doing legs on this machine with the leg attachments is by far the worst exercises you’ll do. When doing hamstrings, the bottom pad does not roll so it’s going to rip all the hair off the back of you legs. It’s terrible. The top roller that goes from top to bottom settings is too loose, even with the bolts as tight as they go there’s just too much slip in that pad. Not good. Also the leg press and calf raise attachments are too slippery, I added grip tape to them both. And the leg press attachment is too wobbly, needs a dampener on it to slow the movement down like the kind used on motorcycle steering wheels. Would be a lot better like that. I had the lat/row attachment on mine and there’s a couple things to change with it. For starters, turn it sideways and save space, there’s no reason to make this length wise and make this machine even longer. Also that’ll allow you to sit behind the machine and adjust the weight, now I got the front cover off because you can’t see any weights from the seat. Which means you gotta get up and go around to adjust weight, how didn’t anyone see this issue when testing this thing out? On the smith machine, move the hook points to the outside of the machine so you’re elbows don’t hit them when lifting from inside the cage, seems like an obvious one. They need to install some kind of pin holder for when you’re doing the bare minimum weight on the cable portion. There’s nothing now so that pins flopping around and getting stuck in the weights when my wife or kids are using the minimum 10lbs. Again? How did nobody at force usa see this problem??? Overall it’s a good machine, not quite commercial quality but close enough for at home. But there’s some obvious problems I can’t believe nobody noticed when testing this before selling it.

    I owned two Gym Monsters, first one was defective, took about 3 weeks to replace. Second was fine but after a few months I sold it. Too many limitations in the design, especially if you're tall and I saw too many hassles that owners whose machine broke had to put up with to get theirs fixed. Also, if you have to crack open the motor/fan housing to repair something it's a PITA. At some point you'll need to do it when the cables need replacing. After I sold mine I was just relieved I didn't have to worry about any of this. I replaced mine with a REP PR-5000 rack and their new Ares 2.0 cable system but I was also considering that Force USA C10. And that C10 sliding bench is crazy. I think there's a way I can get it to work with my REP system and if so that bench will become really popular in the home gym community.

      Thanks for sharing your experience with the Gym Monster. There’s something to be said for off grid fitness products. The tech is nice at times, but we are also mindful that, living in Florida, the power can be disrupted by storms. We made sure to always have fitness equipment that doesn’t need any power.

    Tonal is expensive and that is because Tonal is awesome. I can tell just by looking at the alternatives that they are less of a value than the Tonal even at a cheaper price point.

    I was thinking about switching to dumbbells as I currently use kettkebells for my weight hold sessions (basically isos with weights with slow lifts) i do a holding weights by my side thing the block weight looks a little rough for that. The toughfit looks nice, handles look a little thin though. Looking forward to more vids .

    • @StevieRichardsFitness
      @StevieRichardsFitness 7 днів тому

      Yes the clunky ergonomics of adjustables become especially obvious when they are by your sides. Good catch on the Toughfit dumbbell handles. I wish they were contoured and not straight.

  • @lorddeathspit1124

    Thanks for the review - Q: Does this replace the full inversion machine? I only have room for one - Im thinking of getting this - pls let me know if the decompression is the same given that this DEX machine is not full extension/inversion. thanks!

    • @StevieRichardsFitness
      @StevieRichardsFitness 8 днів тому

      Out of the two, I prefer the DEX. I do feel decompression- as much as I do on the LX9. Maybe it’s just because I don’t like being upside down in the manner of traditional inversion tables. The DEX also has the benefits of other exercises available like hyperextensions. That eliminates eating up more gym space with another piece of equipment. Also, my ankles sometimes get very sore from using the traditional inversion table. That could add another point to the DEX. Both are great devices, but I like the DEX better. In the end, it really up to how comfortable you’d be in the inversion position and if you want some more versatility. If you so decide to purchase, please use my link: bit.ly/3fnFIAP

      Yeah I bought some for my home gym last year. I have so much more space due to them. But like you mentioned, some exercises can be a struggle such as RDls or incline rows on a bench. It seems to me Force USA or another exercise equipment manufacturer can create a much more affordable self-standing functional trainer that combines the functionality of a Titan Fitness plate-loaded pulley tower with a Pull-up/Dip stand, like the Stamina PT 1690, which can be used to do many muscular development exercises, like pull-ups, chin-ups, dips, inverted bodyweight rows, knee raises, leg raises, mountain climbers, push-ups, sit-ups, and crunches. The Titan Fitness plate-loaded pulley tower has to be attached to a wall or power rack, but it can be made into a self-standing functional trainer if its base is widened. However, it doesn't have a pull-up or dip bars, and it can't be used to do inverted bodyweight rows, knee raises, leg raises, mountain climpers, push-ups, and crunches like the Stamina PT 1690 pull-up stand can. Force USA, which is probably reading the comments on this UA-cam video, should consider combining the functionality of both the Titan Fitness plate-loaded pulley tower with the versatility of a Stamina PT 1690 pull up stand. If it creates a hybrid functional trainer, like the one I mentioned, it probably can market it for around $500, which would make it popular with far more home gym owners than its more expensive functional trainers.

    First, the x3 bar is a total rip off, but if you got $550 to waste that's on you (the emperor is totally naked). DDP Yoga doesn't help? Recommendations: 1) reachout out to Matt Furey for 1 to 1 coaching, 2) Reduce load, volume, frequency, ROM. See if you can find a combination that you can do w/out irritation. This might mean a rack pull of just an inch w/ just the bar for just one set of low reps. From there I would first very slowly increase reps to 25 or more. Then drop reps back and increase ROM by no more than an inch. Could be less. Follow this until you're pulling from just above the knees. Then hold that ROM, and start adding load w/ micro plates or washers, and reps.

    I'm thinking about buying it but i live in an apartment and the bag moves a lot when you punch it. Maybe its not fully filled. If so, have you fill it completely? If so, what did you fill it with?

      Correct. I did not fill it completely. This was done only to be able to move the bag when I have other product reviews coming into the gym. You can use a base gel that’s available on Amazon and not have to use as much water to fill the bag. Trust me- when it’s filled up, the bag isn’t going anywhere. If you really like doing pull ups, I would recommend the tri grip bars. The wing attachment works ok, but the tri grip bars feel much butter IMO
